Join Team Wellness to see how just a little effort can make a really big difference.
Team Wellness is a group of regular people, just like you and me, who are committed to helping people who’ve been impacted by cancer. They may have lost a loved one to the disease; seen the devastation it caused for a loved one who is now a survivor; and some team members are cancer survivors themselves. Regardless of why they care about people who’ve been touched by cancer, they want to help make another person’s journey through it more manageable. So, they are walking a 5K (3.1 miles), raising a minimum of $300, and receiving the personal benefits that giving back provides.
The Wellness Community is an Official Charity of the LA Marathon, and so its Team Wellness is participating in the NPN LA Marathon 5K. This year’s LA Marathon 5K is sponsored by New Performance Nutrition and will take place on Saturday morning, March 20th at Dodger Stadium. As the official warm-up race for Sunday’s Honda LA Marathon presented by K-Swiss, you can take part in the festivities while running a 5K that ends in the middle of the LA Marathon Expo. It’s a great way to plug into the energy of Marathon weekend!
Starting at the official marathon starting line, an estimated 4000 people will start the 3.1 mile NPN LA 5K Run/Walk at 8:00 a.m. Registrations for the 5K Run/Walk are accepted online through March 12, 2010. Late registration for the 5K takes place at the LA Marathon Expo, Friday 19, 2010 at Dodger Stadium and the morning of the event starting at 6:30 am. Free parking will be available for all participants in Lot K at Dodger Stadium. Participants will be able to enter Dodger Stadium via the Sunset Gate off of Sunset Blvd. and Elysian Park Dr. or the Downtown Gate from the 110 Freeway. The Golden State Gate (access from the 5 freeway) will not be open during this time.
